Welcome to this new blog. This blog is not here for my own sake, but for the sake of everyone who wishes to have a place to communicate about the most current subjects regarding the Hawaiian Independence movements and all the myriad of subjects which are connected to it.
I will try and post the most diverse range of subjects possible, but if I fail to mention anything, please let me know. Likewise, if anyone has any comments on how I can make this blog more useful, please let me know.
Some subjects which are core to the movement right now include the subjects of what is independence or sovereignty and what could be the result of the passing of the Hawaiian recognition bill (aka the Akaka Bill)? There are also leadership issues among those in OHA and among other large groups of people who are leading us towards some form of independence. Many other subjects could be mentioned here.
I plan to moderate this blog in the following way: I believe that a wide array of opinion is acceptable here and I know this subject can get people pretty bent out of shape and so I will allow that. What I will not tolerate is TOO much misinformation. When I say TOO MUCH, I mean to say that sometimes misinformation is the very subject that we need to discuss, but there are times when I will ask that a poster please provide some kind of reference and/or quotes to what they are talking about in order that we are working with reality rather than fiction.
All in all, I hope people will be respectful of each other and try to post comments which are rich in fact and personal opinion and hopefully a wide variety of references from which we can draw our understanding.
