Really Interesting about the "Committee of Safety"

The "Committee of Safety" was not the first of its kind. Did you know that the revolutionists during the American Revolution also had a "Committee of Safety" which served much of the same purpose of Hawaii's version?

See Committee of Safety to read about the American Revolution's version.

Using a name like this would have served an important purpose for the conspirators of Hawaii's revolution. If you remember, the American Revolution hadn't been too distant in the past around the time of Hawaii's revolution. By alluding to similarities in the revolutions, Hawaiian Conspirators were seeking to draw parallels between the tyranny of England's monarchy circa the late 1700's and the monarchy of the Kingdom of Hawaii.

I'm sure some Americans took the bate, but America finally took over Hawaii more to suit its political purposes rather than to be ideologically.

As a look into the spoiled minds of those conspirators that sought in all ways to draw themselves closer to the United States, it never ceases to amaze me that they could imagine themselves at all in a situation which is parallel to that of the United States pre-Revolution era. The Americans LEFT ENGLAND and were sloughing off a distant power. Hawaii's revolutionists came from other places TO Hawaii and didn't like the government there and decided to overthrow it. It reminds me of one of my relatives by marriage that likes to come to my house and reorganize things. GO HOME AND REORGANIZE YOUR OWN DAMN HOUSE!!!

I need to clarify some of the misconceptions presented here. It was the US American foreigners that staged a "fake" revolution while Honolulu was totally unaware of what was taking place. The US complicity manifested itself after President Harrison and US secy of State (James Blaine) collaborated with Thurston to destabilize the Hawaiian government; thus we have the Bayonet Constitution which wasn't ratified but implied as it was done between legislative sessions. The comparisons of Great Britain and Hawaii was indeed similar but it was a different period than that of King James, et al. The system converted to a constitutional monarchy whereby it was a democratic process with a legislative body of representatives of the people and the House of Nobles. This bi-cameral legislation elected two of our kings into office. The people campaigned for their favorite candidate. US Americans needed to justify their revolt; the other factor is that these white foreigners refused to be ruled by a "brownie" (in their language, a nigger). Mind you they were not subjects of the Kingdom but foreign residents making profits off of the islanders. However, US Americans did make the comparisons between Britain and Hawaii as an absolute monarchy (of which neither country had at that time period). The complicit conspirators (US and US American foreigners in Hawaii) each needed each other to fulfill their dreams; the US, for its naval dominance in the Pacific and the US Americans in Hawaii to escape the foreign import taxes for pecuniary reasons. The same tactics used in Texas whereby they flooded that country with their own people to take it over. Unfotunately, for them, they didn't have the majority of the residents behind them and needed the US troops to invaded a friendly, neutral nation of Hawaii; an act of high treason considered in both countries. Therefore, the USA which greviously violates the laws of occupation is required to de-occupy Hawai'i.
